This probably isn’t a good name for this event and it wasn’t presented that way, but rather as a tonic for the malaise that we are experiencing by quarantining and not having the joy of driving our Astons and getting together. Through some great planning (no surprise) by Jake Yasgur and Wil Wong, we were able to have a drive and a meet that catered to our needs as well as to the care and distancing required to be safe from the dangers of the corona virus pandemic. The plans were for a drive originating from convenient locations for both PA and NJ members, and a rendezvous with a BYO lunch. Driving would as usual, be solo, or with a spouse or selected friend to navigate.

New Jersey Members met at Exoticars USA in Milford, NJ, had an hour drive culminating at PA Bucks county’s Tinicum Park for some careful socializing and a BYO lunch.

Pennsylvania Members met in Fort Washington, PA, had an hour drive with a rendezvous at Tinicum with our NJ members for the BYO lunch.

Things went as planned with a successful meet in Tinicum Park of 17 Astons and two Jaguars. The line up of cars almost filled the gravel parking area.

It’s quite a sight to see and the enthusiasm generated a different sort of infection, not anything like the corona virus. There were even two members, and their Astons, who drove south from CT to join us.

One of the CT cars was a contemporary Zagato Shooting Brake. None of us had ever actually seen one in the flesh. It proved to be quite a hit in the line up of Astons that was already creating lots of excitement.

Face masks prevailed, except for eating and lunching together with our own supplied chairs, food and drink. This proved to work quite well. We’ll do it again.

In addition to being a Jaguar enthusiast, she is very active in various car cubs devoted to the Jaguar cars.

It appears that she is beginning to show some enthusiasm for the Aston Martin marque.
